Chipotle Spiced Candied Pecans

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tea. chipotle powder, or more to taste
  • 1/2 tea. sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tea. cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in a large, nonstick pan and then add pecans. Lightly saute for a couple of minutes or until just browned.

Stir in brown sugar, chipotle powder, paprika, cinnamon and salt. Cook about 4 minutes or until sugar begins to melt. Then deglaze your pan with water. Sitr until liquid has ben reduced by half. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Spread nuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 5-8 minutes or until crunchy. Cool and then store in an airtight container until ready to use.
