Malted Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, cold & cut into pieces
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 c. malt powder
  • 2 c. semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.

Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.

Cream butter with electric mixer until fluffy. Add the sugars and cream. The mixture will look a bit grainy. Add the vanilla and eggs and beat together until fluffy. Add the malt powder and mix at low speed just until combined.

1/3 at a time, add the flour mixture, beating after each addition just until combined. Gently mix in the chocolate chips.

Drop by tablespoons onto the baking sheets. Bake 8-10 min, depending on how crispy you like your cookies. The cookies will be flat. Let cool on wire racks and store in an airtight container.
