Ingredients
- 4 to 5 sliced apples or enough to fill heaping
- pie plate
- 1 pie shell - bottom crust only
- 1-1/2 Cups sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 t cinnamon
- 1/2 Cup plus 5 Tbsp flour
- 3 Tbsp water
- 1 stick butter
Preparation
Step 1
Peel and slice apples and sprinkle with mixture of 1/2 cup of sugar, salt, cinnamon, and 5 Tbsp of the flour. Mix well and fill pie shell.
For Topping:
Combine 1 stick butter, 1/2 cup of flour, 1 cup sugar, and 3 Tbsp water with fingers to make a crumbly mixture. Sprinkle over pie. Place pie pan in large brown paper bag and paper clip shut. Bake for 1 hour in 425 degree oven DO NOT OPEN OVEN WHILE COOKING
