Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoon butter
- 1 pkg. frozen French toast (9 oz, 6 slices), or make your own
- 1/3 cup strawberry or other berry fruit preserves
- 2 Tablespoons finely chopped walnuts
Preparation
Step 1
Turn on oven to 350 degrees. Put butter in a heatproof cup and spread toast on an ungreased cookie sheet. Put both into oven while it's heating up, for about 4 minutes. Remove when bread is soft and butter is melted. Press French toast to flatten. Spoon in 1 1/2 Tablespoons preserves on middle of each slice. Fold toast over, point to point, to form a triangle. Press open sides firmly with tines of a fork to seal. Brush tops of turnovers with the melted butter; sprinkle with nuts. Bake 15 minutes until hot and crisp. Serve immediately.
