Mexican Wedding Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 c nuts, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400.
Cream shortening.
Add sugar, vanilla, and butter and cream together well.
Add flour and nuts and mix well.
Roll into balls the size of a walnut.
Place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes.
When cracked, they are done (they do not brown).
While still warm, roll in powdered sugar.
When cool, roll again in powdered sugar.
