Ingredients

  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/8 cup warm milk
  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1

1. Dissolve yeast in the 1/8 cup milk. Add remaining warm milk, 1 3/4 c flour and salt. Combine and let rise for 1 to 1 1 /2 hours.

2. Combine the remaining ingredients and add to the raised mixture to it. This will be a very soft dough. Place dough in greased pans and bake at 375 or 400 degrees depending on pan size until golden brown.
