Grandma's Crescent Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. BOILING water
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 3 T. warm water

Preparation

Step 1

Beat together sugar, Crisco, egg and salt. Add 1 cup boiling water and beat. Add 1 cup flour. Mix yeast in 3 tablespoons water; mix into batter and stir well. Add last 3 cups flour (will be sticky). Work dough, then let set overnight in refrigerator. Roll out half of the dough (in circle) and cut into 4 pie-shaped pieces. Cut each of these 4 into 3 more pieces. Rub with butter. Roll from outside in. Bake 325 degrees 11-12 minutes.
