Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 teapoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon, ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

Step 1
In a sauce pan, combine butter, sugar, molasses and vinegar;bring to a boil stirring constantly Remove from heat; cool to lukewarm. Stir in egg. Combine the flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon. and salt; stir into molasses mixture to form a soft dough.
Divide dough into thirds and shape each into a disk. Wrap in plastic and chill for at least 2 hours.
On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with floured cutter. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 for 709 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool on racks.
