Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 2 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (1 lb) can pumpkin
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 3 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease two loaf pans. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Stir in eggs, pumpkin, and water. Blend in flour, soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and cloves. Pour into pans. Bake about 50-70 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
