Ingredients

  • 1

    can (16 oz) black beans (drained, rinsed & dried)

  • ½

    yellow onion - chopped

  • ½

    bell pepper - chopped

  • 1

    clove garlic - chopped

  • tsp parsley – dry

  • tsp basil – dry

  • ½

    TBSP chili powder

  • 2

    egg whites

  • ¾

    cup bread crumbs

Directions

Using a fork, mash beans in a medium bowl until thick and pasty. Using food processor, finely chop onion, bell pepper and garlic. Strain out water as much as possible. Stir mixture into beans. In a small bowl, combine egg whites and spices. Stir into bean mixture. Gradually mix in bread crumbs until mixture is sticky and holds together. Form patties. Grill on foil for 8-10 minutes.
