Baked Rice Pudding

This is from a cookbook my aunt bought many years ago, intended as a wedding shower gift. It never made it out of our family. We used it lovingly until it fell apart. While vacationing in St Pete I found the exact book at Haslams used book store. Tho not in perfect condition, it is in much better shape than our original.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup rice
  • 4 cups milk, scalded
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Preparation

Step 1

Combine ingredients in greased baking dish.
Bake 325 degrees about 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally as a brown crust forms. Do not stir during lasty 1/2 hour.
