    cup sugar

    tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2

    teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 6 oz package semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Add cream of tartar and beat until soft peaks form. Mix in sugar, one tablespoon at a time, and add salt and vanilla extract. Sift cocoa powder over mixture. With a rubber spatula, fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared foil. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until crisp. Let cool on cookie sheets for 2 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
