  • Two eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • One cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • One cup milk



Step 1

Beat eggs. Add sugar, mix thoroughly. Add first cup of Sweet milk. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to egg mixture. Mix cornmeal with flour and salt and add to mixture, beating until smooth. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a 9 x 13 pan and pour in batter. Pour 1 cup of milk over top, but do not stir. Place at once in 400° oven. Bake for 30 minutes. Serve hot with butter.
