Chicken and Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 2 cups cut-up, cooked chicken
  • 1 sm green pepper
  • 1 can mushroooms
  • Corn Bread mix

Preparation

Step 1

Heat butter in 2 qt. saucepan over low heat until melted. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Cook stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly, remove from heat. Stir in water, milk and bouillon. Heat to boiling stirring constatntly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in chicken, gr pepper,mushrooms with liquid. Pir mixture into ungreased 8x8x2 baking dish. Prepare corn bread per box and spoon on top. Cook uncovered in 450* oven until golden brown. 25-30 minutes.
