Dried Cranberry and Apple Crisp

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup all purpose flower
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 stick unsalted butter,cut into
- bits
- 6 Granny Smith apples,(2 1/4 lbs)
- peeled and cored and thinly sliced
- 1 juice of lemon
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- serve with vanilla ice cream

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400
In small saucepan simmer cranberries,
cinnamon stick and water for 10 min
Drain the cranberries and remove cinnamon stick.
In a bowl,blend flour,brown sugar,salt
and butter until the mixture resembles
a coarse meal.
In a seperate bowl,toss the apples with the lemon juice and cinnamon,then
add in the drained cranberries.
Place the apple/cranberry mixture in a buttered 8 in square baker.
Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture over the fruit and bake for 20-25 min,or untill the apples are tender and topping in golden
