Ingredients
- 1/4 C each confectioners and granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 C butter (2 1/2 sticks) refrigerated and cut into 9 - 10 pieces
- 2 1/2 C flour
Preparation
Step 1
Place sugars in food processor. Process until very fine. Add butter and pulse until sugar disappears. Add flour, pulse until there are no dry particles remaining (will be moist and crumbly). Place in plastic bags and press together to form dough. Knead lightly until dough holds together.
Remove from bags. Shape dough into 1" balls. Place on unbuttered cookie sheet 2" apart. Flatten with a cookie press, fork, or bottom of a glass lightly moistened with water.
Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour until pale golden at 275 degrees. Remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely.
