Ingredients

  • 1 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • pinch salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, room temp
  • 1 c plus 2t sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temp
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 8 oz fresh strawberries, halved
  • juice of half a lemon
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

1) preheat oven to 375. butter 9" springform pan. whisk together flour, baking soda and salt. cream butter and 1c sugar til fluffy, about 3 minutes.

2) add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each egg. mix in vanilla. on low speed, add flour mix til combined. pour batter into prepared pan and cover with plastic wrap. chill 20 minutes.

3) arrange strawberries on dough. pour on lemon juice evenly over strawberries. combine remaining sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over strawberries. bake tart til golden and edges set, about 45 minutes.

4) when tart is cool, run paring knife around the edges before removing from pan
