Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies #3
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 T. sour cream
- 1-1/2 t. vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2-1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 t. salt
- 2-2/3 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

In a large bowl, with an electric mixer on high speed, beat butter and shortening until fluffy. Add sugars, sour cream and vanilla; blend well. Beat in eggs, one at a time; set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; mix well and add to butter mixture. Beat well. Stir in chocolate chips with a spoon.
Drop dough by generous 1/4 cupfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, 3 inches apart. Flatten dough to 2-1/2 inch circles. Bake at 350 degrees for about 14 minutes, until golden. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes; finish cooling on wire racks.
Makes about 1-1/2 dozen.
