French Onion Soup Spread

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 4 oz. Gruyere cheese, shredded & divided
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green onions, divided
  • 1/3 c. mayo
  • 1/3 c. sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 4 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
  • Baguettes, Tortilla chips, French bread.

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 425.

Heat skillet over medium high heat. Coat pan slightly with Pam. Melt the butter. Add onion to pan; saute 5 min. stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low; cook 20 min or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Cool slightly. Reserve 2 Tbsp. cheese. Combine remaining cheese, caramelized onions, 1 Tbsp. green onions and remaining ingredients in a medium bowl.

Transfer mix to a baking dish coated with Pam. Sprinkle with reserved cheese. Bake for 20 min or until browned and bubbly. Sprinkle with remaining 1 Tbsp. green onions.
