Sour Cream Coffee Cake 1 Picture


  • 1/2 C shortening (or butter)
  • 3/4 C sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 C flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 12 pint sour cream
  • 6 T. soft butter
  • 1 C firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 C chopped nuts

Step 1

Cream shortening, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each.

Sift flour, baking powder and baking soda together. Add to the creamed mixture, alternately with the sour cream, blending after each addition.

Spread half the batter in greased and floured bundt pan.

Cream butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon together. Add nuts and mix well.

Sprinkle 1/2 of the nut mixture evenly over the batter in the pan. Cover with the remaining batter. Sprinkle remaining sugar mixture on top of the batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes, or until lightly browned on top. Test with a baking pick or tooth pick to be certain it is baked through.
