Ingredients
- 1 envelope yeast (2 1/4 tsps yeast) dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water and 1/2 tsp sugar.
- Let stand x 5 mins until yeast is dissolved.
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 cup warm water
- 5-6 cups flour

Preparation
Step 1
Cream sugar and shortening,add beaten egg,salt and warm milk and water.
Add dissolved yeast.
Add 5-6 cups flour.
Knead well.
Set in warm place and let rise until double in bulk x approx 1 hr.
Shape into rolls and put in greased pan or greased muffin tins and let rise x approx 1 hr.
Cook in 400 deg. preheated oven for 18-20 mins until golden brown.
Cool on racks.
