Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 cup nuts (optional)
- 3 cups apples, chopped
- Frosting:
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 12 oz. can evaporated milk
- 1 stick butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
Step 1
Cake:
Combine oil, eggs and sugar. Add flour, soda, salt, baking powder and cinnamon. Mix well. Add nuts and apples. Bake at 325°F for 35-45 minutes, until toothpick comes out cleanly.
Frosting:
Mix evaporated milk, butter, sugar and cinnamon. Cook in microwave 9-10 minutes on medium high heat. Pour 1 cup hot mixture on yolks. Mix all back together. Microwave 9-10 minutes more on medium high. Stir well with wire whip.
Serve warm glaze over cake.
