  • 2 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Step 1

Mix flour, baking soda,cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. beat sugar and butter in a large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, add egg and vanilla; mix well. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed refrigerate 2 hours or overnight until firm.
Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness, cut into shapes with cookie cutters . Place on greased baking sheets
Bake in preheated 375*F oven 8 to 10 minutes or until browned, cool 1 minute on baking sheet. Remove to wire racks; cool completely, Decorate cooled cookies with colorful cookie glaze, place on wire racks to dry,

mix 1 cup confectioners sugar, 3 1/2 tsp milk,2 tsp light corn syrup, 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract and 3 to 4 drops of assorted food colors or neon food colors until glaze is smooth
