Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground veal
  • 3 lbs ground pork
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 level tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • Pastry for pork pies
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 Tblsp butter
  • 2 lge Tblsp lard
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • mix with enough milk to roll
  • makes 4 small pies

Preparation

Step 1

Simmer meat mixture in water for 2 hours then add bread crumbs.

Fill pie crust. Brush top of crust with milk or egg white.

Bake @ 400 until crust brown………………cool then freeze
