Orange Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup Crisco
  • 2 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 orange
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 16 oz. can pumpkin
  • 3 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2/3 cup pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Cream Crisco and sugar thoroughly. Cut orange into wedges and remove seeds; place in blender with water and puree. To the creamed mixture, add pureed orange, eggs and pumpkin. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and powder. Add to pumpkin mixture. Stir in pecans. Pour into two 9x5x3 loaf pans and bake 1 hour 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool.
