Gateway Hot Rolls

These great rolls are from the Gateway Inn in Barboursville, WV.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Crisco
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 7 1/2 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together the Crisco, sugar, eggs, salt. Add the cold water and hot water and mix well.

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Add to mixture and mix well.

Add flour. Mix until soft dough forms. Refrigerate overnight. Pan into rolls and let rise. Bake at 325° for 10-15 minutes.
