Chocolate Pizza Dough

  • 2 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 oz butter, softened to room temp
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 cups all purpose flour

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400F
Melt the unsweetened chocolate in a basin over a saucepan of simmering water. cool.
In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar. When well mixed, stir in the egg and vanilla. Then add the baking powder, salt, flour and cooled chocolate and mix thoroughly. Cover and place in a freezer about 45 minutes to stiffen the dough.
Grease the pizza pan and place the stiffened dough in the center. Spread the dough with your hands until it covers the pan evenly. Use a glass, rolling it on its side over the dough to smooth it out if necessary.
Bake at 400F for 10 minutes. Allow to cool before topping
