Ingredients
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 1/4 cup boiling water
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- ICING
- Boil in saucepan for 1 minute, stirring constantly
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine
- 3 tsp. milk
- 1/2 cup coconut
- 1/2 cup nuts (broken/chopped walnuts or pecans)
Preparation
Step 1
> Bake @ 350 degrees 25-30 minutes
> (Or until toothpick inserted comes out clean)

> Pour water over dry oatmeal and let stand

> 1 cup white sugar
> 1 cup brown sugar
> 1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine
> Blend well until creamy

> 2 eggs
> 1 tsp. vanilla
> Add to sugar mixture
>
> ***ADD SOFTENED OATMEAL***
>
> 1 1/2 cup flour
> 1 tsp. soda
> 1 tsp. cinnamon
> 1/2 tsp. salt
> 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
> Mix together and add to wet mixture. Pour into
> greased
> and floured 9X13"pan.
