Thanksgiving - Roast a Turkey

Let turkey sit out for 1 hour prior to putting in oven to take coldness off of bird

Ingredients

  • Butter
  • Flour
  • Salt

Preparation

Step 1

Place clean, dry turkey on its back in roasting pan and rub entire surface with salt. Spread over breast and legs, 3 TLBS butter mixed with 2 TBLS of flour until creamy. Place in over at 450 degrees until flour mixture is brown; reduce heat to 300 degrees and baste frequently with 1/4 C butter melted with 2/3 C boiling water. Once you have done this 3-4 times, use the drippings in bottom of pan to baste the turkey.
