Steel-Cut Oatmeal with Apricots

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup steel-cut oats
  • 1 1/2 cups liquid
  • 4-6 chopped apricots
  • Cinnamon or nutmeg to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Bring the liquid to a boil. Add the oats, boiling them for 5 minutes. Remove the heat, cover and allow to sit for about 10 minutes.

If you are going to add a flavoring, stir in the oats just after they come off the heat, but before you cover them. (I like a bit of vanilla as well)

Add apricots and a pinch of nutmeg. (Another variation I like is bananas with a bit of vanilla).
