Preparation
Step 1
Peel and cut 4-5 apples into cubes
Blend 2 tsp. of cinnamon with 5 TBsp. sugar
Sprinkle this combination over apples and set aside
Measure into large mixing bowl:
3 cups sifted flour
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of oil (vegetable oil is fine)
4 eggs
1/4 cup orange juice
1 tsp. salt
Beat ingredients til smooth with spoon.
Stir 4 Oz. broken walnuts
Pour 1/2 batter into well greased 10" tube pan.
Arrange 1/2 apple mixture over batter. Then, batter, then apple mixture. I try to use a little batter so I save a liitle for top layer! I usually put walnuts over top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 11/2 hours. Although it may not seem done, it should be.( I have already baked it for one hour and forty five minutes with good results) Feast!!!!
