Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 5 slices of bread
  • 1 pkg (9 oz) Jimmy Dean cooked sausage crumbles (or ham, or any other meat)
  • 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar/jack cheese
  • 9 eggs, beaten
  • 1 sm. pkg hash browns (16 oz)
  • 2 cups Half n Half
  • Salt/pepper to taste (I use Tony Chacherie’s Creole seasoning)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix the eggs, milk/cream, salt, and pepper; set aside. Tear the bread and place it in a buttered 9x13x2-inch casserole dish. Layer the sausage over the bread, and top with a layer of potatoes. Sprinkle the cheese on top. Pour the egg mixture over the casserole. Cover and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, bake the covered casserole at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15-30 more minutes or until set.
