Sausage Roll

Ingredients

  • 2 loaves of white frozen bread (I make my own)
  • 2 pounds of sausage ( I use 1 original and one hot zesty)
  • 1 cup of chopped mushrooms, fresh
  • 1 onion, medium chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 package of mozzarella cheese
  • 1 package of hot pepper cheese
  • 1 egg

Preparation

Step 1

Let loaves of bread rise according to directions.

I do this next step ahead of time, I have even froze it so I had it on hand.
cook the sausage, mushrooms, onions and green peppers till done. When done drain.

When dough has risen to double the size, punch down the dough and roll one loaf out. It needs to be as flat as you can get it. but still thick enough to roll.

Spread half of meat mixture over the dough. Sprinkle half of the mozzerella cheese and half of hot pepper cheese over the meat. Roll the bread up and seal edges.

Repeat with second loaf and other half of the meat mixture.

Beat egg and brush egg on loaf of bread. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.
