Ingredients
- 1 3/4 C Brown Sugar
- 1 1/2 C Cold Water
- 2 T Butter
- 2 C Flour
- 2 t Baking Powder
- 1/2 t Salt
- 2 1/2 t Cinnamon
- 2 T Butter
- 1 C Sugar
- 1 C Milk
- 1/2 C Nuts (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
1. Combine brown sugar, water and first 2 T butter, bring to a boil. Cool, while preparing batter.
2. Sift dry ingredients. Cream 2 T butter and sugar. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Mix well.
3. Spread batter in a 9" sq. pan. Pour brown sugar mixture over batter. Sprinkle with nuts. (Okay if liquid makes "holes" in batter.)
4. Bake 350 deg. 35-40 min. Serve warm with ice cream.
