Ingredients
- Makes 24 squares
- 1 cup butter
- 1 pound (1 box) light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 cups sifted all - purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- Confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oven to 300 degrees. Grease and flour a 9-by13-inch baking pan.
2. Heat butter and both sugars in a saucepan. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients except confectioners’ sugar; mix well. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 40 minutes. When a knife is inserted in the center, a few crumbs should cling to it. Let cool slightly, then dust with confectioners’ sugar. Let it cool completely in the pan, cut into 24 squares.
