Cinnamon Ice Cream Nava 0 Picture


  • 6 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 Tbs. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 9 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 Tbs Jack Daniels whiskey



Step 1

in 4qt. heavy saucepan bring milk, 3/4 cup sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla just to boil
stirring until dissolved
remove pan from heat, let stand 30 min.
in bowl whisk together, yolks and remaining 3/4 cup sugar until light and thick
bring milk mix just to boil and whisk into yolk mix in slow stream
transfer custard to pan and cook over med-low, stirring constantly until thickened, 170 degrees, about 3 min.
strain custard into bowl and cool slightly
whisk sour cream and whiskey into custard
chill covered until cold and freeze in ice cream maker
makes 2qts.
