Cheese Filled Herb Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove or 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, or 1 tbsp dried
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp rapid or quick yeast
  • Filling
  • 2 cups (8oz) grated mozzarella or crumbled feta

Preparation

Step 1

1. Add ingredients to bread machine set on dough cycle according to manufacturers directions.

2. Rmove dough from the machine upon completion of the dough cycle and divide into 12 equal pieces. On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece into a 6 or 7" round. Place about 2 tbsp cheese in teh center of each round. Fold Sides over to center, encasing cheese and press firmly to seal closed.

3. Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet, cover and let rise for about an hour.

4. Just before baking, pierce top of dough with the tines of a fork and brush with water for a crusty exterior, or olive oil for a softer crust. Bake in a preheated 350F oven for about 15 mins.
