Preparation
Step 1
1. Dissolve yeast with 1 teaspoon sugar in 1/2 cup of warm water.
2. Let sit 5 minutes or until bubbly.
3. Beat eggs and remaining 1/2 cup warm water.
4. Add in scalded milk, oil, sugar, salt and yeast mixture.
5. Then add in 3 cups of flour and beat well.
6. Add in remaining flour, just so it can be kneaded with hands.
7. Knead well; cover and let rise for 1 hour.
8. After 1 hour punch down and let rise again.
9. Divide dough into 4 equal parts.
10. On two well-greased 12" pizza pans, pat 1/2 of the dough (1 part each) within 1" of the rim.
11. Brush with melted margarine.
12. Divide brown sugar and cinnamon mixture between two pans, sprinkling evenly.
13. Roll out remaining dough into two 10" circles.
14. Place each on top of cinnamon mixture, pressing edges together.
15. Brush top with margarine; sprinkle with cinnamon.
16. Cut each circle into 4 sections from outside to center, not cutting within 1/2" of center, leaving all pieces connected.
17. Now cut each section into 4 pieces to 1/2" of center.
18. Pick up each piece and twist 3 or 4 times.
19. Cover and let rise.
20. Bake at 250 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
For Glaze:
21. Pour remaining margarine into 3 cups of powered sugar.
22. Add vanilla and hot water until thin enough to drizzle over warm rolls, moving in circles constantly.
