Ingredients

  • ¾

    lb unsalted butter

  • 1

    cup sugar

  • 1

    tsp. vanilla

  • cups all purpose flour

  • ¼

    tsp. salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 350. In an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, mix together butter and 1 cup of sugar until combined. Add vanilla. In another bowl, sift together the flour and salt, then add to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix on low speed until the dough starts to come together. Dump into a surface dusted with flour and shape into a flat disk. Wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick cut into shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheet and sprinkle with sugar. Bake 20-25 minutes, until the edges begin to brown.
