Ingredients

  • 1/2 loaf egg bread (challah)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 C half and half
  • 1/4 C milk
  • 1/2 t vanilla
  • 1/4 t nutmeg
  • 1/8 t salt
  • 3 T Butter
  • 1/2 C Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 C ch. nuts
  • 1/2 T powdered sugar

Step 1

1. Grease bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Cut bread in 1" slices, about 6 slices, arrange in bottom of pan.

2. Beat together eggs, half and half, milk, vanilla, nutmeg and salt. Pour over bread coating equally. Cover, refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

3. Preheat oven 350 deg. Melt butter, combine with brown sugar and pecans. Spoon over bread evenly. Bake 30-40 minutes. Serve dusted with powdered sugar.
