Black Pepper Flat Iron Steaks

Ingredients

  • 1 flat iron steak
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp coarse ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Place steak into a large zip-lock bag. Combine next 8 ingredients and pour into bag. Refrigerate and allow to marinate for 3 hours, shaking bag occasionally.

Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp pepper over each side of steak. Grill covered over medium heat 10 to 14 minutes for medium rare, turning occasionally. Do not overcook. Slice crosswise into thin slices.
