APPLE FROST

By

Banish Bad Breath
Are your dragon fumes keeping chicks at bay? A University of Illinois study found that cinnamic aldehyde, a chemical compound in cinnamon, reduces bad-breath bacteria in the mouth. So go ahead, pull your girl close -- as long as you have this drink in the other hand.

Protect Yourself
Feel a cold coming on? The brandy in this drink should help: Researchers at Monash University in Australia found that a single shot of the liquor contains enough antioxidants to equal the daily recommended intake of vitamin C.

Sweeten The Deal
Falernum, a sweet syrup flavored with lime, clove, and almond, comes in alcoholic (made with rum) and nonalcoholic versions. If you can't find it, make the drink with honey. And don't worry about the carbs: Honey doesn't cause the blood-sugar spike and subsequent crash that goes along with sugar. Plus, it contains polyphenolic antioxidants, which help fight cholesterol and destroy artery-clogging plaque.
