Shiskbarak (meat pies)

Ingredients

  • Stuffing:
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • salt
  • 1 lb. mince lamb
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • dash pepper, cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. finely chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp. mint
  • 1 cup flour for rolling out the dough

Preparation

Step 1

Mix ingredient for pastry together to form a dough. Knead for 10 mins. Set aside for 1/2 hour. Brown pine nuts in butter. Remove. Saute meat and chopped onions. Cook 15 mins. Remove from heat. Add pine nuts and parsley and mix well. Roll out dough thinly. Cut into 4 cm circles. Place a tsp. of filling on one side and fold over. Sprinkle flour on a tray and arrange pies on it. Let stand awhile. Bake 20 mins. in 350F oven.
