Steak with Garlic Wine Sauce

  • 1 /2 lbs. steak
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 . tsp. ground pepper
  • 4 tbsp. butter, divided
  • 2 tbsp. sliced green onions
  • 1 c. dry red wine
  • 3 tbsp. garlic cloves crushed

Preparation

Step 1

1. Sprinkle steak with salt and pepper. Heat a heavy skillet and cook the steak until seared and well browned on each side, about 1-3 min on each side. Reduce the heat then add 2 tbsp. butter. Cook and additional 3-5 min on each side. Remove meat from the pan and keep warm.

2. Pour off the fat then add thinly sliced green onions and red wine. Bring to a boil and whisk in crushed garlic cloves. Boil until the liquid is reduced by half. Remove from heat and gently swirl in tbsp. softened butter.

3. slice meat, against the grain, into thin strips. Arrange the slices on a hot platter, and pour the sauce on top.
