- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1 t. soda
- 1 t. salt
- 1 c. margarine, soft
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 t. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped nuts

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375º. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl. Add eggs one at a time; beat well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 – 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. For pan cookie: bake 20 – 25 minutes.
High altitude: Increase flour to 2½ cups and add 2 t. water with flour and reduce sugars to ⅔ c. each. Bake 8 – 10 minutes, pan cookie 17 – 19 minutes.
