Ingredients

    t. soda

    t. salt

    c. margarine, soft

  • ¾

    c. sugar

  • ¾

    c. brown sugar

  • 1

    t. vanilla

  • 2

    eggs

  • 2

    c. chocolate chips

  • 1

    c. chopped nuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 375º. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl. Add eggs one at a time; beat well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 – 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. For pan cookie: bake 20 – 25 minutes. High altitude: Increase flour to 2½ cups and add 2 t. water with flour and reduce sugars to ⅔ c. each. Bake 8 – 10 minutes, pan cookie 17 – 19 minutes.
