Birthday Cake New Duchess Spice Cake

Ingredients

• 2 1/4 cups cake flour
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. salt
• 1 cup sugar
• 3/4 tsp soda
• 3/4 tsp cloves
• 3/4 tsp cinnamon
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 3 eggs

Preparation

Step 1

Grease and flour two 9 inch cake pans
Preheat oven to 350°
Sift together dry ingredients
Add shortening and buttermilk
Beat for two minutes
Add eggs
Beat two minutes
Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes
