  • 2 Tablespoons butter, softened
  • 0.5 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 0.5 teaspoons vanilla
  • 0.33 cups bananas, ripe and mashed
  • 0.25 cups unsweetened applesauce
  • 1.25 cups all purpose flour
  • 0.75 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 cups hazelnut spread, such as Nutella
  • Non-stick spray

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar until creamy with a mixer. Add in egg whites, vanilla, bananas and applesauce. Mix together. In another bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir just until combined. Warm up hazelnut spread in microwave for 30 seconds until it is softened. Pour banana bread batter into a bread pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Then slowly spoon the hazelnut spread on top and swirl it into the bread batter using a knife. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes, until cooked through.
Freezing Directions:

Prepare and bake bread. Allow bread to cool. Cut into individual slices, wrap in plastic wrap, label and freeze. TO SERVE: Thaw on counter. Warm in microwave, if desired.
