Perfectly Chocolate Cake (Emily)

Ingredients

  • 2 C sugar
  • 1 3/4 C flour
  • 3/4 C cocoa
  • 1 1/2 t baking powder
  • 1 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 t salt
  • mix the above together
  • then add the following
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 C milk
  • 1/2 C vegetable oil (OR 1 C sour cream, which is the difference in the recipes that I prefer)
  • 2 t vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

beat on medium for 2 minutes

stir in quickly 1 C boiling water

Bake in greased and floured pans for 8 or 9 inch pans, 22-25 minutes for 2/3 full cupcakes (about 30)
