Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 C butter soft
  • 1/2 C crisco
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 TBS lemon zest
  • 2 1/2 C flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1 TBS milk
  • 1 TBS fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 C butter soft
  • 4 oz cream cheese soft
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 lb powdered sugar
  • Pinch salt
  • Fresh lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350*. Cream, butter, crisco and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla, egg, and lemon zest. In separate bowl, sift together flour, salt, and soda. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture and combine. Add lemon juice and milk; stir until completely incorporated. Roll dough into TBS sized balls and place on greased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes, just until cookies are beginning to turn golden brown on edges. Frosting: Beat butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and salt. Mix in fresh lemon juice until spreadable.
